Michelle is a Registered Psychologist who completed a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology (Monash University) and a PhD in the area of Developmental Neuropsychology (University of Melbourne). Michelle has worked in clinics, schools, research institutes, and hospitals in collaboration with other allied health professionals in a clinical and research capacity.
Michelle supports adults as well as children, youth and their families as they face a variety of conditions such as stress related challenges, anxiety, depression, or emotional regulation difficulties. Michelle builds therapeutic alliance with her clients to help them build self-awareness of their strengths, areas of challenge, and to find direction in their lives. Michelle also loves supporting ADHD and Autistic people from a strengths-based perspective as well as those who experience a variety of learning challenges. Michelle’s therapeutic approach is holistic, which considers the physical, cognitive, and spiritual dimensions as central to healing and wellbeing. Her therapeutic approach is also developmental in nature considering change across the lifespan as key to understanding present strengths and challenges. Michelle uses a systems-based approach where connection to family and communities around the individual are seen as pivotal to health.
Michelle draws from various therapeutic modalities including CBT, Schema therapy, ACT, and EMDR. Michelle is a registered member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA), a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) and an associate member of EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA).
