Convenient Same Day Service

Receive a GP referral and see a Psychologists or Psychiatrist on the same day

Medicare rebates are available allowing people greater access to psychologists and providing more affordable mental healthcare. To access the Medicare Rebate, you need a GP to complete a detailed mental health assessment and prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan before referring you to our psychologists.

You are welcome to see one of our GP’s for a referral. If they deem you need psychological services they will complete a care plan for you. This can usually be done on the same day as your psychological appointment date. Please let reception know when you call that you need both a GP referral and an appointment to see the psychologist on the same day if possible.

A GP referral is also needed to see our Psychiatrist and in order to access the Medicare rebate. We prefer in this case that your own GP issue you with a referral, however you may see one of our GP’s if you wish. Please read the information on our Psychiatrists page before making an appointment.

Get a Medicare rebate on the spot

If you are an individual referred by your GP, you may be eligible to receive a rebate for 6 counselling sessions per Calendar Year, and up to 10 sessions in exceptional circumstances through the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative.

In most cases, eligible Medicare Rebates can be processed on the spot with the rebate transferred directly into your bank account that is registered with Medicare. Please note that we are not a Bulk Billing Clinic. In most cases there will be an out of pocket expense.

 Private Health Insurance Rebates

All our psychologists are registered with most private health insurers. If your insurer covers you under ‘extras cover’, you may be entitled to a rebate. Our HICAPS terminals can process a private health rebate on the spot, or your psychologist will provide you with a receipt for you to claim your rebate directly from your insurer.

Concession Rates

Concession rates may be offered to people who hold a Centrelink Health Care Card, Pension card or DVA card. Please ask reception, one of our GP’s or the Counsellor for more details.
